Charged to replace defective (and obsolete) modem

bcolps
I've been around

My modem stopped working and a Rogers service person had to come and replace it. I received a bill charging me for a new modem, which I do not think I should have to pay. I know someone else who had the same model and it was replaced for no charge because it was obsolete.  I called the service line and was told nothing could be done. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Good afternoon @bcolps,

Welcome to the Community!

This is definitely an unusual one. A couple of things I'd like to get clarity on:

1) Have you been charged a full modem rental amount? (for e.g. $399.99 or $499.99 etc.?)

2) Or do you mean you see a rental modem amount on your bill now?

3) How much have you been charged?

4) Are you on the legacy service or the Ignite Internet service?

Please answer the above so I can assist you further.
