digital cable box after switching to Ignite

Hi, I just switched to Ignite TV. I'm wondering if my Nextbox or the older Explorer box will still work? I was going to run cable out to the garage and put one of them out there.

No they will not work. They are obsolete

In theory the Nextbox can still work, but it seems that you can't have both Ignite/Xfinity and older digital cable at the same time.

In my office we still have Nextbox devices and they work.

once you switch to xfinity (formerly ignite) the line to your house is no longer provisioned for legacy digital cable tv services and you can only use xfinity tv and internet.
