Over about the past month I've noticed numerous programs which are old/repeats are being recorded/set to be recorded when my settings are for "New Episodes Only". For example, Season 4 and 15 of Murdoch on primarily replay channel Yes TV, when New Episodes are Season 18. And lots of upcoming Hudson & Rex set to be recorded on City TV, when I know they are all repeats.
I wonder if others find this a new annoying problem, why it started recently when it didn't before (or rarely), and if anyone knows if anything is being done to fix it.

@dougjp : 1. Delete your Murdoch series recording.
2. Find Murdoch in the guide on CBC.
3. Click the programme in the guide and set up the (new) series recording, selecting CBC as the channel.
You can do the same for H&R on City (select New, City) if it airs sometime in the next two weeks. Otherwise, you can wait until the new season.
Edit - For example; H&R airs at 1AM on Wednesday on City in the guide. Click it and set up a new series recording on City. Works for me.

Yes it is annoying. Have this every dazy to some extent. I love it when a program replays calling itself NEW because now it contains extra tid bits of popup information based on the original viewing.
This is a network program provider problem. They identify it as NEW or REPEAT program. Nothing to do with Rogers systems. Nothing can be done unless the network providers fix the issue.
I usually browse through my scheduled shows and cancel recordings accordingly.

This is usually pretty easy to avoid by properly setting up your recordings. In the series recording options there's an option for "channel". Set that for the specific channel you want, instead of HD or SD. If that channel mislabels, there's obviously nothing you or Rogers can do.
As stated by @Biollw this is not a Rogers issue but rather a channel issue when they set up their guide information. Sometimes it's simply an error by the channel in setting the "new" option incorrectly. For example, Son of a Critch is currently incorrectly labelled on CBC. I also look at my scheduled recordings once in a while (typically using my iPad) and delete the ones I know are wrong by swiping left on the recording. I also hate it when they add pop-up info and label the programme as new, but luckily I don't record many of those programmes.

Thank you both for that.
So I went to my Murdoch settings and the new shows are on CBC, but the sole channel choice other than HD or SD is "Game TV only" (bizarre), so nothing I can do there. Next attempt, Hudson and Rex. I know the new episodes, when they arrive early in 2025, are going to be on City first, as the shows were last year. Other than HD and SD, that one has one channel choice, "FXX only" (which is City's replay channel) !
0 for 2 so far 😞
