Well, the day has come and Rogers has admitted we are no longer wanted.
My use is less than $6/month, so Chatr is my best option. I have been on hold waiting to talk with a rep for 68 minutes at this point.
Has anyone managed to talk with one?

@mjbad2 -- check out some of the resellers, e.g., Dollarama or 7-Eleven, for pay-as-you-go plans -- under $10/month. Also, Freedom Mobile has "full" plans starting at $35/month -- definitely less than $55 or $65.

A family member recently switched from Bell prepaid to Fizz and has been absolutely thrilled with the service. I have been a Virgin and Fido customer in the past and was always annoyed by limitations, like only being able to store 3 voicemail messages, and having those messages disappear after a few days, etc. Was surprised that Fizz was WAY cheaper and had no such limitations, and offers a ton of flexibility.
I'm happy with my Rogers 5G BYOD plan and service, but it's still expensive. I only use a few gigabytes of mobile data (at most) per month. Do I really need a plan that gives me 100GB? Rogers is STILL constantly trying to upsell me to plans with even more data.
A big limitation of prepaid plans is that you only get so much data, and it really cuts down on your ability to use smartphones to their full potential when you constantly fear incurring overage fees. If you don't care about download speeds, those low-cost postpaid plans, that for $20/month give you a few gigabytes of data and often unlimited texting and Canada-wide minutes, are a HUGE game-changer.
