Unable to turn off email MFA (save button greyed out) in spite of Rogers says you can (2024-10)

DE_
I plan to stick around

I would like to turn off email MFA as I often need access to email remotely where I don't carry a cellphone, Today it cost me 2 hours. Rogers online FAQ repeatedly say I can turn it off. I go to the relevant web page, select the radio button to turn it off but the Save button below it is greyed out. Can anyone confirm MFA can still be turned off or not (and Rogers online FAQ is in fact incorrect).

I assume you're talking about setting up MFA via the Member Centre in Webmail.  There were several discussions regarding MFA with Rogers email on this forum (a search for "MFA email" should find them if you're interested).  AFAIK, there is no way to turn off that function, however, you should only need to use it once, sending a text to a cell phone, then inputting the number.  From then on, it should work without requiring MFA each time you login.

Having said that, I set my Wife's MFA on June 23, 2024 and she was asked to redo it on October 24 for logging in via Outlook, 4 months later...  I set my own MFAs at a later date (months later for 2 email addresses).  If I'm required to redo those after 4 months, then I'll know there is a pattern.
