unstable ping latency

johnqhu
I'm here a lot

Hi,

I'm experiencing unstable ping latency these days. I have tried to bridge my modem and use my our router. It seems no good.

The following is the ping result to google.ca

This kind of things also happen when playing games and it's disturbing.

I tried switch to bell because I have both rogers and bell internet. Bell looks much better, the latency is constantly 7 or 8 ms.

I have called rogers tech support. They said the modem signal looks just all good.

Is it the nature of cable internet? Bell only provide 50Mbps while Rogers give me 500Mbps. And bell's price is even higher. Is it just because Bell is much more stable?

Re: unstable ping latency

nolanders
I plan to stick around

I'm currently experiencing the exact same thing and its much like in 2020 when the same issues persisted for MONTHS, I want to switch to bell as well but the download speeds are bad, but i heard the stability is really good. but i can only get 50mbps from bell.
