I have an older smart home alarm system (HAI Omni2e) for which I need to do port forwarding in order to work. It is connected via ethernet cable but not showing up as connected device. I created a reserved IP and included the IP and MAC of the device, but it does not show up on the list of devices on the app, so I cannot port forward it. I contacted Rogers multiple times, they say that maybe the alarm doesnt work, but it worked until the day I switched to ignite modem. Any ideas what to do?

When you log into the gateway with your web browser, then go to "Connected Devices > Devices", do you see your alarm system as connected via Ethernet and with a Reserved IP?

It shows as offline device

It does not accept DHCP. I assigned it an address

... so you can ping it, confirming that it really is online, but don't see it online in the web management UI or in the Ignite WiFi Hub app?

I ping it. It is on the network and I can see its MAC address as well, but its not listed as one of the devices that I can port forward

I think you may be stuck. If the device does not "register" on the network through DHCP, it won't show up on the list of connected devices and you won't be able to set up the port forward in the app.
At one time, I think that the gateway would see a device with a static IP address as online if it connected to the Internet but I don't think that is the case anymore. In another thread, I recall another RE, @Gdkitty mentioning not being able to set up a port forward to a desktop PC with a static IP... but could when it was reconfigured to obtain its IP address via DHCP.

I’m trying to setup Port forwarding to an Ethernet wired desktop but it’s constantly showing as disconnected in the Ignite app. Therefore I can’t make any changes to the device (such as Port forwarding).
Is there a way to force it to appear in Connected devices? I’ve tried rebooting the modem but it still shows disconnected.

This port forward feature doesn't work as It should.
I have opened the port 443 and 80 just fine but now I can't open more ports.
I'm trying to open 1433 but I just can't, after communicating with support I wasn't able to get It fixed even after he talked with tier 2

Did you get an error when you tried to open port 1433 or does the port forward simply not work?
Asking, because it's pretty common for residential ISPs to block TCP and UDP ports 1433 and 1434.

Hi there, did you fix this problem? I had same problem can't see my HAI in the device list. I can easier set up port forwarding with my shaw old Hitron router so I can locally/remotely visit HAI.
