Warning - DO NOT delete rogers yahoo account from mac. You WILL NOT be able to re-add it; agents know nothing

Short version: Rogers agent told me to remove/delete my rogers yahoo account from my mac because we would re-add it immediately. I asked him TWICE if he was certain that was the correct course of action; he assured me that it was. When we couldn't re-add it, he left me on hold for 15+ minutes, only to advise that he had given me incorrect advice, that rogers no longer supports yahoo on the mac mail native program on mac, and that there is no fix. He transferred me to a manager, who was useless, and frankly, insulting. He suggested that I should have known about this decision by rogers, but had no explanation for why the agent didn't know about this problem that has existed for over a year.

If your rogers yahoo account is working on your mac, then DO NOT delete that account no matter what rogers suggests.

Many people are setting up Gmail addresses so that this never happens to them again due to a service provider.  Another advantage of going with Gmail is that you can set it up to "fetch" emails from your Rogers/Yahoo! server. (Gmail - Settings - All Settings - Accounts and Import - Import Mail and Contacts.)
