Starting within the last 7 days, my Rogers Home Advanced Security has been flagging Ecobee (smart thermostat Canadian company) as a security issue and blocking 216.220.52.141 as a "known malicious IP". This is the company's IP address for connectivity

Advanced Security is basically a "black box" service that we (as customers) have no control over. The only thing that we can do is turn it on or off.
According to whois, 216.220.52.141 belongs to a company named Equinix. There's no telling whether the IP address itself got blacklisted (it could be hosting several services) or whether this was in response to the gateway detecting suspicious (or malicious) activity.
You can report the problem to the @CommunityHelps team by sending them a private message. Presumably, Rogers has contacts that can get this issue investigated.
