Re: Allegations of Copyright Infringement

Dear Account Holder,
Rogers has received a notice alleging that an IP address assigned to your account was used to infringe copyrighted material(s). This could mean someone using your IP address has illegally downloaded videos, songs, books, software or games.

The Copyright Act requires that we forward notices such as this to you when we receive them from copyright holders. We cannot comment on the allegations in the notice or whether the sender has appropriately identified you. We are passing along the full, unaltered notice from the sender as we are required to do by law.

Your privacy is important to us. Rogers has not provided any of your personal information to the sender of the notice and will not do so without being compelled to do so by law. For a limited period of time, Rogers keeps a record of the IP address assigned to you. We do not retain any records of yo ur online browsing activities.

The Copyright Act explicitly states that copyright holders ARE NOT allowed to include demands for payment, requests for personal information, or offers to settle alleged copyright infringement in their notices.

If you have any questions about the attached copyright notice, you may contact the sender using the contact information provided in the notice. If you do so, please remember that you may lose your anonymity. As noted above, we will not tell the sender who you are unless we are compelled to do so by law.

For more info on the rules requiring us to forward this notice to you, please see the following resources prepared by the Government of Canada: https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/office-consumer-affairs/en/connected-consumer/notices-canadian-inte....

We trust you will comply with all applicable laws in using Rogers' services.
Sincerely,

Rogers Communications Canada Inc.

Hello, @Raj75.

Welcome to our Community, and thank you for your post. Are you wondering if the email you received is factually from us? What was the From address? Such emails are not uncommon. As the email states, the Copyright Act requires that we forward notice such as this to you when we receive them from copyright holders.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

Cheers,
RogersMoin
