Land line not working

Everytime I pick up the handset I hear static. I have repluged it in, tried a different phone and it's definitely the line. What's happening?!! This is my business line and I can't get calls!

You might have to call into support..

But have you tried to reset the phone modem itself?? 
(instructions will vary based on what hardware you have)

I Did call in and they said there was a "disruption" and said they would text me... if my internet is working would that affect my landline?

If you're on Ignite, probably everything would go down. If you're on legacy Digital Cable/Internet with Home Phone, then the phone can go down on its own.  Probably not a bad idea to reboot the phone modem if you haven't already.  You should become familiar with what the lights on the modem look like when it's operating properly vs. when it's not.
