Unable to receive sms verification codes

I switched to Rogers yesterday from Telus, and to my negative surprise I am no longer able to receive sms verification codes sent by websites like CRA, TD, Affirm etc.
Is there a way to fix this?

Have you tried any of the alternate methods of registering your number such as using a missed call: https://faq.whatsapp.com/796575231429493/?helpref=uf_share

If the alternate methods do not work, I'd recommend contacting WhatsApp directly for support: Contact WhatsApp

Just to clarify, was this function working previously for you? Are you unable to receive them for various corporations or only a specific one? What is the name of the company/corporation you are having the issue with?

As mentioned in an earlier post, if you are not getting verification codes from a company and their short code is listed in Current Short Code Programs, we can investigate it for you.

I’m also having this issue but not with whatsapp. I tried the proposed solutions without luck, I need to receive a verification code via text message / sms from a government service in Spain called cl@ve

Unable to receive sms verification code from WhatsApp

I am attempting to reinstall my WhatsApp account.  But I’m having a real difficulty with receiving the verification code.

When I provide my telephone number, I keep getting the message “We couldn't send an SMS to your number. Please check your number and try again in 1 hour”.  This also happens when I try to recieve the code as a phone call.

I’ve waited the 1 hour to try again and still no text or phone number with the verification code.

I’ve uninstalled then reinstalled the App from the App Store and disconnected from WiFi but still no luck.

Your not the only one having trouble with Whats App Verification codes, It is a known problem on other carriers too, however I am seeing a lot of complaints for Rogers customers. it's a big deal.

App is in list and allowed to send notifications
App doesn't show up in list of apps allowed to send notifications
I have reviewed blocked #'s to check if their # was blocked
I have sent START to their # to activate notifications
What else do I need to fix??

Also, I have contacted the IT people with the app and they tell me that they can see messages being sent to me but I am not getting

The company name I am not able to receive messages from is Crypto.com. I am locked out my account because of this. The number has been blocked by Rogers. Is there a fix?

Thank you for joining the conversation! When was the last time you were able to receive a short code from this company? How were you informed that the number was blocked? Have you spoken to the company to confirm if they are on an approved list for short codes? When searching the company name, I am not able to locate them. If you can let us know some more information.
