Message failure on texts

I keep getting a message failure red !
On my texts but some of them go through anyways

Welcome to the Community and Congrats on your first post with us! 😊 Fellow iPhone user here as well! This issue sounds rather bothersome. By texts, are you referring to iMessage or SMS?

I did some digging around and also tried to jog my own memory as to whether I have had this experience myself. To my knowledge, if the issue is with iMessage and the message is red, it means you cannot send an iMessage to the contact and you can only send a regular SMS text message. Also, it could be a case where the iMessages are failing and it's reverting to an SMS instead. I do have a few lingering questions for you if you don't mind: 

Have you tried to reboot your device? 

Are you experiencing this issue with all numbers or selected number(s)?

Do you have the latest version of the iOS update installed on your iPhone?

Have you had the opportunity to check your network connection while ensuring your iMessage is activated?
