My LG Velvet has not updated with the Aug Security Patch. As a result my work apps were wiped from my phone. How can i force this patch onto my phone? I have Android 13 and my phone says it is up to date.

Looks like the accepted solution is wrong. Apparently LG left the cell phone business in 2020, but, promised 5 years of software updates. It does look like LG is making good on their promise, but, users outside of Korea have to wait for any upcoming updates. So, it doesn't look like there is any way to predict when the updates are available.
Does the phone indicate that a new security patch is available, but refuse to load it?
I wonder if that can be downloaded from an LG support site other than Canada. When you go to the LG site, you're automatically directed to the Canadian support pages and the Android version for all of the LG Velvet 5G phones shows up as V12. So, the web site isn't kept up to date.
I don't have a solution other than looking at other national site pages to see if the latest Android 13 update is available. If that can be loaded, it might present other issues such as poor 5G connectivity, as the firmware version would be adapted for that country and probably would not have the cell phone frequencies for Canada loaded within the firmware. I suspect that you might have to wait for an updated version.
You can always check with the LG forums within the XDA community to see what you can find:

Here's a link to an LG Velvet article from the XDA site:

@mgra which website are you looking at that shows the Aug update?
Verizon only shows the July update: https://www.verizon.com/support/lg-velvet-5g-uw-update/
