Galaxy Watch Ultra BYOD

I've been here awhile

Juat switched my family from Bell to Rogers.

I just had an incredible conversation with a Rogers Rep. I can't activate my Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra since it was purchased directly from Samsung and not from Rogers. How is that acceptable?

When I originally brought the watch home from the Samsung store I activated it on bell and linked it to my phone number in minutes during the initial setup. It worked perfectly for calls, texts and data when I was away from my phone.

Why does rogers have these system limitations? Are they planning on fixing them?

I guess we should return to Bell in the meantime

Hello @TerenceH,

Welcome to the Community!

Have you had a chance to check out this support article? Samsung Galaxy watches purchased through a third party can be activated through Rogers, but are not eligible for 1 Number pairing. They will be given their own phone number.

I hope this helps.

I dont understand why the watch needs to be purchased directly from Rogers when all the other carriers have no issue with it.

One number pairing is arguably the most important part of having the watch activated on the cell network.

I don't need to check email when I'm out for a run. I do however appreciate being able to receive and answer a phone call.
