Returned my Pixel watch 3 today

htavares211
I'm here a lot

Early this week I purchased a Pixel watch 3 with the idea of using the LTE function. Really all I wanted want to my phone in the locker and be able to stream my music and make and take phone calls if need be.
Unfortunately as many may know, Rogers is incapable of hand shaking or providing number share on the pixel watch 3 but for some reason is still offering the deal and selling the devices. Many may say they are still able to provide the watch with a cellular service but after many evenings on the phone with multiple tech support lines and 8+ hours in a corporate store with a great employee trying his hardest to make it work, we were unable to number share. / Hand shake the two devices.
I decided I would keep the watch at this point (4 days of trying to make this work ) and would use the WiFi features to bandage what I wanted to achieve. Our gym runs a home style router being a smaller location and acts normally (no special guest sign in) and I figured I could stream my Amazon music and wifi call... Well unfortunately again I was let down and figured out the pw3 lost the capability to do wifi calling. I returned the device and cancel the line this afternoon after attempting one more time to make it work and failing.
I decided I would dig around and see what device I could replace the pw3 with that I could run wifi calling which lead me to a galaxy watch 6.. but then quickly realized my pixel phone 9 pro xl would not support the Samsung's Wi-Fi calling.
Long story short, because I've gone the route of a pixel phone I've now lost the ability to own a LTE/wifi watch from what I can figure out at least. If I would of known this when my device upgraded was due back around black Friday I definitely would of gone the Samsung route or even iPhone probably so I could of enjoyed what I was really looking to achieve with these flag ship devices...end of rant
Also the problem didn't seem to be in the hard ware as the devices would sync and pair no problem. The problem was on the back end of things in ssp not being able to hand shake/ number share the lines because the software would not recognize the two devices being eligible for number sharing.

Hello, @htavares211.

We appreciate you joining our Community and detailing the challenges you encountered with the Pixel Watch 3 and the limitations you've experienced with WiFi calling on your Pixel 9 Pro XL.

We understand how disappointing it is to invest in a device and find that it doesn't function as expected.

Your feedback is crucial in improving the device support. Thank you for being a member of the Rogers family, and we appreciate your understanding.

Regards,
RogersMoin

I've been here awhile

I am figuring this out myself the hard way. I am shocked that Rogers doesn't support the Pixel Watch 3 when they say they do on their website. "

Whether you finance a smartwatch or bring your own, Rogers has a smartwatch plan for you."

I then tried a chat and get "You need to order the plan yourself or go into a store" but when I ask WHERE or HOW I can online, Victoria from Calgary says "I use my own systems to order I don't use online". Customer service is horrible, I have been with Rogers for 16 years, and will be switching to Telus in October when my P8Pro is up. They support number sharing and support the watch.

Re: Returned my Pixel watch 3 today

Well all the moderators here seem to tell it it is an acceptable device and number share is possible 😄
