why are wait times for call in or online chat service's well into the couple hours mark, why is customer service in this regard so poorly managed, every single rogers customer HATES having to call rogers to do ANYTHING because the wait times just to talk to someone are ridiculous.

Welcome to the Community!
It's our busiest time of the year. I am not trying to minimize the frustration of wait times, but we really are trying to get to all the customers on all the platforms as quickly as we can. Have you tried to contact us via social media? It's pretty busy too but once you message us you stay in the queue and are free to go about your day. One of my colleagues would message you as soon as it's your turn. It saves you the hassle of waiting by the phone!
