Long Distance Calling

Cbarbi
I've been here awhile

I’m on vacation in Dominican Republic. How do I call my landline at home? I thought it was +1 area code and number. Not working. Keep getting a Spanish message saying try your call again

Hello, @Cbarbi.

I appreciate your query, and welcome to our Community!

I hope you are enjoying your vacation. To dial a Canadian number from the Dominican Republic, you need to follow the international dialling format given below:

  • Dial 011 followed by 1 and then the 10-digit mobile number (011 + 1 + number)

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions.

Cheers,

RogersMoin

Hi there. Yea I’ve been trying that. Still no success. Rogers will definitely hear from me when I get home. I have a 95 year old mom that I need to call and check in. Not planning to pay $15 a day for Roam like home and not be able to use it. Thanks anyway.

Re: Long Distance Calling

Hi @Cbarbi,

Thank you for the follow up response and we do apologize to hear that the above method is not working for you as we know the importance of keeping in touch with family.

Do you have any issues making any other calls or is that message only coming up when dialing your home number?
Are you having any trouble receiving calls as well?

If you can let us know some more information so that we can try to resolve this for you.

Looking forward to your reply!
