Lag time on new modem from tv to headphones

Is anyone experiencing lag time from tv to blue tooth hradphones

My wife regularly uses a pair of Aventree Operas as she is getting a little hard of hearing.  They are connected to the optical out of my Sony TV, which is always active.  There is no lag on them at all.

Should mention that optical is connected to headphone base which then transmits to headphones via bluetooth.

Yes, my current Bluetooth headphones desynchronize after a while, I often have to restart the headphones, I'm currently looking to get a Bluetooth adapter for wired headphones on Amazon, I hope those will work better.
This is why I use the web interface on my laptop instead most of the time.
