Does Disney + only work if you purchase your subscription from Rogers? Or Direct from Disney?
About a year ago I purchased a Disney + subscription through Apple. A few months later Rogers added The Disney + app to its ignite Home Screen. This was very convenient as we were able to now log in to Disney + and view content on our tvs.
Two months ago, I went to the app screen to select Disney+ and was taken to a “purchase subscription or log in” screen.I thought it was odd since I’ve never logged out of Disney + on the tv’s. I selected “log in” and completed all the additional steps on my iPad (entered the 8 digit code, email, password) my iPad logged in to Disney+, but the tv never completed the process.
Subscription is still active through Apple, and viewable on other devices. Disney+ says no issues on their end. Have spent hours speaking with Rogers and they say it’s not their problem. But Disney+ worked fine on Rogers ignite for 9 months and now will not load on the ignite screen. (And no, we were not receiving a free promo for any part of that 9 months.)
Would love to get back to viewing Disney plus on the tv without purchasing additional devices like Roku etc.. I’m reluctant to purchase another Disney+subscription (from anyone) until I know why we can’t watch it through the ignite platform, and can be certain a subscription from another provider (Disney or Rogers) would actually work. Any advice would be appreciated.
