How do I Activate my Modem When I have no Ethernet port

Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums!

I know how important it is to know all of the steps required to set up your new modem. Your Rogers Gateway modem should be equipped with the EasyConnect setup. Once the Gateway is plugged into coax and power, when it comes online it should start to broadcast a Wi-Fi network called EasyConnect. You can use any Wi-Fi device to connect to that network and then follow the steps to create the network name and passphrase.

If the modem is not broadcasting the EasyConnect network you will need to Factory Reset the modem by following the steps outlined here: https://www.rogers.com/customer/support/article/factoryresetmodem.

Keep us posted if you continue to have issues after a Factory Reset.

The following steps explain how to factory reset the ZTE MF28B either by hard reset or through the admin page.

1. Open a browser and enter the following in the address bar:
   • 192.168.1.1
2. Log in with the password admin.
3. Click Settings.
4. Click Advanced.
5. Click Reset.
6. Click the Reset button to begin the reset.
7. To perform a hard reset press and hold the Reset button for 7 seconds.
   • The Reset button is on the back of the device.
