Xbox IP Grab Attempt

I was playing Xbox and got invited to a party. There was a couple guys, and one guy was clearly trying to get me to stay. The other was clearly fed up with him, and told me he was trying to get my IP. I’ve looked stuff up and can’t tell if this is dangerous... nothings happened to my wifi or Xbox, but I did restart my gateway just in case.
Thoughts?

I'm not an online gamer but it sounds like you were being warned that the other player was trying determine the public IP address of your Internet connection, presumably so that they could either try to hack you or launch a denial of service attack that would take you offline.  With Rogers Internet, your modem usually keeps renewing and obtaining the same IP address indefinitely so, if a nefarious individual obtains it, they can also potentially keep targeting you indefinitely.
