It's almost certainly due to maintenance. If the network teams need to do any prolonged activities that are service-impacting, that's when they will do it.
If you lose Internet connectivity and your Ignite Gateway starts flashing amber, try logging into it with a web browser. If "Gateway > Connection > Rogers Network" shows something like this:
your node is down -- either intentionally or because it crashed.
