You can close this thread. Apparently I didn't properly reset the Cable Modem. TIL: It takes up to 3 minutes to return to factory. For some reason the Rogers Cable Modem did not have the bridge mode properly.

@DIR7Y is the modem running in Bridge mode?
1. If not, change it to Bridge mode. When the modem is rebooting into Bridge mode, restart/reboot the router as well so that it picks up the correct WAN address from the CMTS.
2. If the modem is in Bridge mode, restart the modem and router at the same time, for the reason stated above.

That didn't change a thing, it still retains the internal local IP

Ok, that router is running a beta firmware version. Here's the firmware download page for the Pro ET12:
If that doesn't go right to the Bios & Firmware selection, it should end up on the correct page so that you can select the Bios & Firmware selection.
Download the firmware version titled; ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23013
That is the only version available beyond the beta version, so, there's no choice in this case. That will download FW_ZENWIFI_ET12_300438823013.zip Park the file somewhere and unzip the file.
In the ET 12's user interface, navigate to Administration .... Firmware Upgrade and select the Upload link which will lead to a file selection panel. Select the unzipped file for upload: FW_ZENWIFI_ET12_300438823013.pkgtb
That should take three or four minutes to upload. The router should reboot automatically. The current router function selections should be retained. Personal opinion, given that this is a step up from a beta version, I'd run a factory reset to ensure that the stored data corresponds to the loaded version. That is located at Administration .... Restore/Save/Upload Setting. I'd also check the "Initialize all the settings, and ....." selection. That will require a complete setup after the reboot, but, in this particular case, I wouldn't depend on the jump from the beta version to the first operational version to run as expected.
I think that the yellow squiggle in the upper right hand area is an automated update link, however, in this case, I'd run a manual update.
Have you used Asus routers before?
When the factory reset it done and you're setting up the router, go thru every page and sub-page and disable any function that you know that you're not going to use. Keep the firewalls enabled, and wifi enabled, but, look closely at all of the functions that are available throughout the user interface. That is what I do whenever I update my router (RT-AX86U). I also use Merlin's Asuswrt, which is a modified version of the original Asuswrt firmware.

This is my first Asus router. Currently there is no firmware from Merlin that will work with my router.

Ok, du'h, what was I thinking. You're going to have to kick the modem back into Gateway mode so that you can connect to the Asus web site. That might require a factory reset to accomplish. I've never had any success in connecting to the modem when its in Bridge mode, and connecting a pc/laptop directly to the modem when its in Bridge mode is a security hazard. You could call tech support and if you have success in reaching them in a very short amount of time, you can ask the tech to kick the modem back into Gateway mode. The other way to do this manually is to hold down the recessed reset button at the back of the modem for at least 30 seconds and then release it. That will initiate a factory reset and reboot into Gateway mode.
If you're using the app, you might be able to kick the modem back into Gateway mode. I've never loaded it or used it, running the modem setup from a connected pc prior to kicking it into Bridge mode.

The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address.
This router may be in the multiple-NAT environment and DDNS service cannot work in this environment.

My thinking is that running a beta version is causing some issue, either the WAN address is completely wrong for some reason, or, the displayed address is wrong but the actual WAN address is correct.
What do you get for a WAN address if you use "whats my ip address" in a web browser address bar. Is the address correct, compared to the displayed WAN address? Don't post the WAN address.
Even with the private IP address, are you able to access the internet and download the firmware update?
What are you running for internet service? A cable based service with one of the following modems, and if so, which modem?
Internet Self-Install - Help and Support - Rogers
Or, do you have fibre to the home, with a fibre Optic Network Terminal (ONT) installed, which connects to the XB7 or XB8 thru the modem's port 4 (lower right hand port). If that is what you have, the router can replace the modem, leaving the modem out of the system.
Fwiw, I'd leave DDNS disabled for now. Get the router running as it should, then look at DDNS.

When i do, what is my ip...I get the correct external IP Address. I put the default firmware back and did a complete rebuild of the network and it still shows the same information.

Ok, so whats my ip shows the correct WAN address but the internal display doesn't. That's a bug.... When you say that you put the default firmware back on, is that the beta firmware version: 9.0.0.6.102.4856 which is shown in your post above?
You should install the latest firmware version: 3.0.0.4.388.23013
Fwiw, from the Small Network Builder Forum, here's the link to the Asus thread for that version. I haven't reviewed it yet. If you run into problems with that version loaded, that would be the place to post the issue and ask relevant questions that might help sort this out:
https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-zenwifi-pro-et12-firmware-version-3-0-0-4-388-23013.84621/
It would be worth taking a tour around the site to see what's there.
Here is a search on the SNBForum site for the ZENWIFI ET 12 PRO:
https://www.snbforums.com/search/926587/?q=ASUS+ZenWiFi+Pro+ET12&o=relevance
Can you confirm what service you're running, a cable connected service or fibre to the home with a fibre Optic Network Terminal (ONT) installed.

I'm in Rural NB, and we have coaxil only.

I wonder if this helps with any information

Ok, that's rather interesting. The image implies that you're logging into the remote unit instead of the main router. Do you have both of them up and running, and if so, is there a way that you can log into the main router? You might have to shut down the remote unit and log into the main router.
Maybe you're already logging into the main router and that is what it displays, the local IP address instead of the WAN address. You might have to dig into the documentation to see if there is any mention of what that IP address should be, the WAN address, or local LAN address for the main router.
