Rogers Pedestal on my front yard

User8931
I've been here awhile

@CommunityHelps  Hi there
I have a Rogers Pedestal on my front yard. I am planning to extend my drive way and this pedestal comes in the way. How can we move this pedestal to other unused area of the yard?

Can anyone suggest how do I get the Rogers pedestal (box that contains the wires for Rogers internet, cable for the neighborhood) from one end of the front yard to another or to the curbside.
It currently placed close to my Single drive way, stopping me from extending the drive way to suite big cars

If the pedestal is on municipal land, Rogers is not under any obligation to move it, and actually has many good reasons NOT to move it, as it would involve splicing cables which would degrade signal transmission.

Your best bet would be to send a private message to @CommunityHelps and inquire whether it would be possible to move the pedestal.

I plan to stick around

Is the pole on the boulevard -- community property -- or on the land you own?

Is there a registered "easement" to allow the placement of the pole onto your property?

One web-site: https://forums.redflagdeals.com/ugly-bell-telephone-pole-my-backyard-i-dont-need-can-i-compensated-2...

suggests that it would cost (in 2022) over $20,000 to pay for the pole to be moved.

In B.C., each home is allowed one driveway access. It may cost $1500 for your city to smash down your current access, square up the curb, and smash down the curb, at a different place, and construct a new access.  Of course, their responsibility for construction ends at your property-line, putting you on the hook for a constructing new parking-area on your property.

Or, trade-in your large vehicle for a smaller one that is easier to navigate around the current pole.  🙂
