At Rogers, we are proud to celebrate Black History Month with you, our employees, and the community by recognizing the legacy and contributions of Black Canadians. This month, and throughout the year, we are helping to educate and amplify the rich storytelling of Black creators and talent through film and television.

From riveting documentaries to ground-breaking thrillers, we’re spotlighting these powerful and important voices with a curated selection of some of the best in Black Entertainment through Ignite Entertainment (Ignite TV and Ignite Streaming).

Marley	Netflix	This documentary explores the music, life, and legacy of reggae icon Bob Marley, from his birth in 1945 to his death from cancer at age 36.
Abbott Elementary	Global / StackTV	Emmy Award winning mockumentary sitcom created by and starring Quinta Brunson as a positive second-grade teacher at the poorly funded Abbott Elementary school.
The Wonder Years	Disney+	A coming-of-age tv series inspired by the 1988 series of the same title. Starring Elisha “EJ” Williams, the show follows his life as he grows up in Montgomery, Alabama in the late 1960s.
Them	Amazon Prime Video	This horror anthology series is set in 1953 and follows a Black family who, during the Second Great Migration, moves from North Carolina to an all-white neighborhood in Los Angeles.
Rap Sh!t	Crave	Created by Issa Rae, this television series centers on two Miami-based rappers who try and find success in the music industry.
