I was charged $4.25 for a 5-second call for a Canadian area code. I received the call, then called back, only to hang up as soon as I realized it wasn't a live person. Rogers' response, claiming I should have checked the number, is unreasonable—how can I verify every single Canadian number? I have a Canada-wide plan, and dialing a Canadian number shouldn't result in extra charges, especially when it's claimed to be from directory assistance. How could directory assistance call me first? While it's a small amount, this feels like a rip-off, and the poor customer service leaves a bad taste. Next time I see a better offer from another provider, I won’t hesitate to switch from Rogers.

Hello @tareklc,
Thanks for taking the time to join us in the community to share your billing experience. Unexpected charges are never fun. 😞
From my understanding, if you make a call to a standard Canadian number (not a 1-800 or 1-888, etc.) while in Canada, and have a Canada-wide calling plan, then there should not be any long distance charges for that. We'd like to have another look into this for you to better understand what happened and why you were charged.
If possible, please send us a private message @CommunityHelps so we can assist you further. For more information on how our Private Messaging system works, please check out our blog.
