Random roaming charges

baconcat123
I've been here awhile

I got charged on 5 days for roaming on Dec 11,18,19,21 and January 4th. I spoked to a representative on the chatting function and they explained that I was able to see my usages to see why i got billed. I know that I did indeed used data roaming on the 11th and on the 21st recieved an call. On the usages I am able to see these usages on the page. Now, I am unable to see any usages at all on the 18,19 and Jan 4th but the person explained to me that I made calls on these days even though it does not show on my phone records or on my usages pages. He said, you are unable to see these because you are not enrolled in detailed billing but partial billing and I asked him to explain then why I can see the usages for 11th and 21st. He cannot explained it and kept on saying it is because I am not enrolled. I do not know how to proceed with this because I did not use roaming on 18,19 and 4th.

If you have EasyRoam, just connecting to data or even a tower for a split second can get you charged for the day.

I have data roaming off completely for this sim card and the chat person said it was because I made outgoing calls on my card. However, I have no phone record of making any calls on both my phone and their account.

Hello @baconcat123 ,

Thanks for sharing your billing concerns here in the community.

If we are charging you for Roam Like Home on those specific days, I would hope there'd be a reasonable explanation for it. We'd love to have another look into this for you to see if we can get to the bottom of it. 🧐

If possible, please send us a private message @CommunityHelps so we can assist you further. For more information on how our Private Messaging system works, please check out our blog.

Re: Random roaming charges

Turning off roaming on your device does not stop your sevice from connecting to a foreign cell tower The roaming setting in most devices applies to data only. Did you happen to make a WiFi call or a call using something like WhatsApp while connected to WiFi?

LordDrakkon is correct,

You only turned off the "Ability to use Data" while roaming but you are still able to roam,  You can still get roaming charges when your data is off, because you can still make and receive voice calls, send and receive SMS messages. Only way for sure to avoid charges is to not roam at all, ie take out the sim card completely.
