Issue with Mail app not showing new Yahoo mail on my IPhone

I have been having this issue for awhile now, and have tried everything I know to fix it but no luck. 

The issue has transferred from my older Iphone 14 Pro to my new IPhone 15 Pro, so I know it is not the phone but must be something to do with the account itself.   

I also have an IPad that is unaffected by this.

This issue happens sporadically.   It is not everyday, but sometimes it will happen daily for a number of hours.

Hopefully I can explain this so it makes sense.  

Issue:  When I open the Mail app and it shows "checking for mail" I will see it say "x new emails", but there is no new mail showing in my inbox.    If I check my Yahoo app on laptop or phone, I can clearly see the newly received emails.  They are available there.     These missed new emails end up never showing up on my phone in the Mail app.   They do not get loaded up later.   At some point my IPhone will show new emails, but never the ones that did not come through earlier.    I can't figure out what is happening, but it has to be a setting on the phone itself, because as I mentioned earlier, I have an IPad and I receive all my emails through the Mail app there no problem.    Help!!!

When you say the issue transferred from one phone to another, is it because you directly transferred your data from one iPhone to another rather than recovering through iCloud?

If so, you could try restoring your device from an iCloud backup. If your iPad currently works without issue, then restoring from that same backup should transfer those same settings to your iPhone.

I guess I did transfer phone to phone.  I didn't think about that at the time.   Wouldn't my ICloud backup have those same email settings as well?      As far as using an IPad backup I don't have everything set up the same on the IPad as on my phone.      Not super tech savvy so I'm hesitant to start messing around.    Any other options or settings I should look at?
