Since Rogers still doesn't offer family sharing options for an Apple Watch for a kid, I'm wondering if it's possible to get a data only plan for an Apple Watch? I just want my daughter to be able to use her apple watch without a phone in order to contact me. Would a data only plan work for that?

Hello, @Nougat42.
Thank you for being our Community member and reaching out with your question about getting a data-only plan for your daughter's Apple Watch. I understand your concern about wanting her to be able to use her Apple Watch independently.
The data-only plan for the Apple Watch will not work as the watch must be paired/linked to an Apple phone.
We recognize the convenience and safety advantages of a cellular-enabled Apple Watch for children. We encourage you to monitor our website for updates to our plans and offerings.
Cheers,
RogersMoin

So there is no solution to support parents in this besides having to get their child a cellphone (what a greedy move by Rogers). Don't tell me to watch for updates to plans and offerings when people have been asking for years (based on this community forum) for a family sharing option and there is still nothing. Telus and Bell both have this option for parents why doesn't Rogers. This is absolutely non-sense for one of Canada's bigger cell providers.
