should i return my S23 ultra 512gb after two year contract now? or pay the upfront and keep it, as i don't see S25 ultra or Google Pixel 9 Pro XL any different or should i update it to any of them?

If you're still satisfied with your S23 and it's in good shape, I'd say keep it. Your phone is definitely not obsolete!
