I switched from a Fido 4g plan to a Rodgers 5g plan, aside from getting more data, I expected better speed or at least the same speed. I'm getting tired of seeing that little circle going round and round not even capable of keeping up with YouTube shorts at times. This was never an issue with my Fido 4g plan.
The tower is 1km from my location and I would expect Rodgers and Fido same tower that has only been in service for a year. My phone is Samsung S22 capable of connecting 4g and 5g avaible in my area but neither is as good as my previous Fido service.
What's going on?

My service with Fido was satisfactory. The speed/not connected issue began when I switched from Fido 4g to Rodgers 5g 1 month ago. Trying to access the forum was an issue this morning as well

Good morning @Gumbey,
Welcome to the Rogers Community and thank you for letting us know of issues you noticed with your data speeds.
Have you had a chance to revew @LordDrakkon's post above?
To set YouTube streaming quality to automatic, you can select the Auto option in the video player's Quality drop-down menu. YouTube will then automatically adjust the video quality based on your internet connection speed.
With slow speeds over wireless, keep in mind that many factors that can impact download speeds, such as the distance from towers, any obstruction that can be blocking the signal, as well as the amount of traffic on the network during different times of the day. Have you noticed this
For future references, make sure to check your network status in the MyRogers app. Once signed in, go to the Support Tab, click on Network Aid, and then check status. If there are any network issues detected, or if you want to bring any problem to our attention, you can report it through there.
Are you still facing any hurdles access the Rogers Community? Let us know if you need more help!

Your missing or ignoring the point pointed out in my previous posts. Nothing has changed except SLOWER data or no connection. Rodgers 5g plan is inferior to Fido 4g plan .........why?

Hello, @Whatsit1.
Thank you for your continued patience; we understand how frustrating it must be to experience slow speeds or no connection.
Is your Samsung Galaxy S22 a Fido phone?
Have you tried resetting the network settings? You can do the following:
- Go to Settings
- Select General management
- Select Reset
- Select Reset mobile network settings
- Review the information and select Reset settings
Let us know if the problem persists.
Cheers,
RogersMoin
