Yeah, people that don't have a reservation better not be showing up at
the Apple store once the X starts to ship. They won't be getting any
stock. This is why the 8's are so easy to get. So many are going
after the X.
Heh...yeah, I know. There won't be store stock until the spring in all
likelihood (some even worry it could be the summer) - which would negate
a lot of sales, because why would you buy the X in July when the next
one's coming out two months later?
It's not just not paying sales tax, it's also the exchange - so when you
take that into effect, you're saving about 20% by buying your Apple gear
in a US state with no sales tax. (now, I make it worth my while - I'll
buy a bunch of Eddie Bauer clothi...
Hmm. With the exception of US Cellular, Sprint and Verizon, I'm guessing
the rest of that list are just resellers (like Virgin Mobile up here).

Ah, ok, yep, if the Bell & Telus CDMA networks are completely shut down
then Apple has no reason to sell that SKU up here. Yet another reason to
make a road trip to Delaware (no sales tax)
