You can ask the caller to put a note in your account for any Rogers rep to see. You can then contact Rogers in any one of the usual ways to check. Also, see the following link on avoiding scammers, etc.

Frankly, I never deal with anyone who contacts me - be it a telemarketer or door to door sales. They rarely, if ever, have your interests at heart. I contact Rogers if I want something instead. I never answer phone calls from callers that are not in my phone's directory, for which I have a distinctive ring. I have a no-soliciting sign at the door which most people follow. If someone knocks and starts a spiel, I just point to the sign and slowly close the door.
