Hello,
I got a telephonic call from a person who says he was from rogers & was providing me a really good deal, I was a rogers customer before & now I'm currently with Bell. I just wanted to authenticate if this person is offering me a legitimate deal or is it some kind of online fraud.
The e-mail id is :
The phone number is For Further Assistance : 705 298 2293 Ext# 800
Can anyone please let me know if this is genuine or not, because i have called rogers customer care multiple times, but no one has helped me out up till now.
Thanks

The phone number is basically irrelevant since any phone number and call display can be spoofed.

Also just got a call offering $50 US/CAN plan with 80GB data WITH a iPhone 15 Pro Max. When they started to ask for personal information I asked for a call back number. They said 705-298-2293 extension 800 Emma - G4011.
sorry, not going to fall for $50/month x 24 months for a iphone 15 pro max AND no activation or CANCELLATION fee lol. (They even said you don't have to return the phone AND $50 and tax included....)
when it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Got the same call - holding off on it until I get confirmation if this is true.

I got the same call today, and it sounded like a scam so i went along until she start asking me about my birthday. I gave her me email and name which you can find many places on the internet, but nothing else. Then i got this email and you can see its a scam by the lines at the left of the email, because its been copied from another email and not a genuie generated email:

There is no registered IP-address, and no "mail-exchanger" IP-address for "promotionrogers.ca".
That's a strong HINT that it is a scammer.
If you call the number that called you, do you get an "intercept": the number you called is not in service ? If somebody answers, do they immediately identify themselves ("thanks for calling Rogers") or do you get a menu ("enter 1 for billing, 2 for technical support")? The REAL Rogers would have automation to give that menu.

They called me and got me to handout my email, but then she wanted all sorts of other codes, and I knew it was a scam and told her that that info was already on file. She hang up but send the email anyway

The time-and-energy that the scammers used to try to "phish" you
is time that they did NOT spend talking to somebody more gullible. 🙂
I imagine that at the end of a month, the manager of the scammers would fire the worst employee for the month -- smallest money scammed during the month.
