I was wondering whether Rogers wireless has any additional security options, beyond the defaults, to proactively prevent and deter unauthorized SIM swaps, and to block port outs via "port lock"?
I was able to add a PIN to my account, and a security question (by phone; these aren't in the default interface), but it seems to me that there should be even better options to protect "high value targets" (e.g. celebrities, those owning cryptocurrencies or other digital assets, high net worth individuals, or those in high profile jobs that are targeted by hackers).
In the USA, Verizon and T-Mobile have various options to prevent SIM swaps and port outs:
https://www.verizon.com/support/port-out-faqs/#turn-off-freeze [Number Lock]
https://www.t-mobile.com/support/plans-features/account-takeover-protection
How can Rogers wireless customers opt-in to even higher security options? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The Privacy Commissioner in Canada has said:
https://www.priv.gc.ca/en/blog/20200312/
"Ask your service provider about additional security controls which can be placed on your account such as adding a PIN, a passcode, or port lock. A port lock can prevent your phone from being ported unless you can verify your identity in person. These steps will help prevent unauthorized parties from being able to access or move your cellular phone services."
How can we do this at Rogers wireless, to maximize security?

Agreed, but I'd like to make it as difficult as possible, instead of using the "default" security.

Good afternoon @GKToronto!
We have taken steps to protect our customers, which includes sending an SMS for confirmation before a port-out. You can find out more here: https://about.rogers.com/stories/port-fraud-and-sim-swaps
If you would kindly reach out to us via PM, we can go over your account to make sure that it is maximally protected to the best of our ability. If you've already added a PIN, then you are already protected.
Please feel free to send a private message to @CommunityHelps so we can assist you further. For more information on how our Private Messaging system works, you can find out more here.
Regards,
RogersCorey
