Since moving to the new xfinity tv and using the wireless box vs the wired one from shaw, netflix and other streaming services often would stop or cut off in between watching.. regular tv channels are ok.
We tried resetting, plugging and unplugging, restarting and even ensuring the hdmi that goes to the tv and ethernet cable going into the xfinity modem/router are tight and firmly connected. netflix, disney+ and prime video all cuts or stops frequently when watching on them.
the xfinity remote often lags and become unresponsive as well..

Greetings @mokz316!
I can absolutely understand how frustrating this might be. Thank you for providing full details of your concern and the troubleshooting done thus far.
Can you please confirm for me that you're accessing Netflix, etc. through the Xfinity box and not through another source like a Chromecast or natively through your TV Smart OS? You can connect the Xfinity box via Ethernet to your modem directly if you prefer that over a WiFi connection.
I would recommend swapping the batteries if you find that your remote is unresponsive as a test. If a battery swap doesn't help, we can troubleshoot further and arrange for a replacement remote if all else fails.

If the old box was being used as wired, why not plug in your ethernet cable into the Ignite box ??

...probably meant RF-coax? But you're right, if you have the possibility to use Ethernet, then use that to connect between the box and the Gateway.
It's also possible to go into the settings for the box to see how good the WiFi connection is... If it's not good, then placing the Gateway or the box in a different position may help with the WiFi.
