Can't watch first 20 channels on Xfinity on my laptop.

DuckHunter
I've been around

I've been watching TV for some time on my Mac Air, in my home, through my router, but Rogers XFinity for some reason has decided to bar me from watching the first 20 channels of live TV. The watch button is greyed out for all of them and I'm told that due to copyright restrictions I have to watch through my home's router, which is what I'm doing. (If I want to watch something on PBS on 17, I have to set up a recording and then watch it later.) I have no idea how to solve this. I understand IP location may be an issue, and I know that the interwebs constantly thinks I live in London Ontario when I actually live several hours away, in Ontario. I don't know if this is the basis of the problem.

Hello, @DuckHunter.

We're thrilled you joined our Community! Thank you for detailing your concern about being unable to watch the first 20 channels on your MacBook Air.

Are you running a VPN service on your MacBook Air? Have you tried a different device to see if the problem persists?

As long as your MacBook Air is connected to the Rogers Xfinity gateway, it's considered in-home. If you have not, please clear your browser's cache and cookies; sometimes, this can help resolve such issues. Also, please try a different browser or Private Browsing, assuming you use Safari.

Please keep us informed so we can try different steps.

Regards,
RogersMoin
