Band steering allows the HiTron Wi-Fi Modems to seamlessly connect compatible devices between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network frequencies in your home, ensuring you always have the best connection.
But what does this really mean? We all have more and more devices connected to the WiFi network in our homes. Band steering ensures that your devices connect to the best network – 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz – for peak performance. Older devices may only be 2.4 GHz compatible so that’s where they will stay. Newer dual band devices will connect to the 5 GHz network. Less overcrowding on each network means better performance.
