Changing SIM cards while outside Canada

biznatch
I'm here a lot

I will be traveling to Europe for a week and want a plan in case my phone is lost or stolen. My main phone is a Galaxy S10e with Rogers, I also have my previous Rogers phone an S7. If my S10e breaks I can move the SIM card to the S7 and everything works like usual (already tested). But what if my phone is lost or stolen? I will be outside Canada so I can't just go to a Rogers store for a new SIM card.

When I originally got the S10e they moved the S7 SIM card to the S10e so I still have the unused SIM that came with the S10e. On the MyRogers website there's an option to change my SIM card. If my phone is lost or stolen can I just use the MyRogers website to change my SIM card, put the new SIM card in the S7, and everything will work? I know you need the old SIM number to make the change so I would make sure to keep a record of it.

Hello @biznatch,

Thank you for posting your concern in the Community. We'd be more than happy to help you.

As long as both devices take the same size of SIM card, you can use the old SIM card in the other device by activating it online. Also, the website will ask for the old and new SIM card numbers so make sure you write them down somewhere.

You can get more information about how to activate or change SIM card by clicking here.

Hope this Helps!

Cheers,
