I just subscribed to Rogers 5G home internet and got the Cobra 5G Xtream gateway. It works fine on its own but I would like to use my own existing router/mesh system. Rogers' tech support don't know how to do that and advised me to contact the manufacturer. However, the manufacturer's web support is only for distributors and not for end users. Does anyone know how I can put this Cobra gateway into "bridge" mode or its equivalent so I can use my own router?

For basic browsing, etc that generally should work ok.
The only problem is that you will be double NATing.. that they are literally both routing.
Generally for home wired internet, you can can put the modem into bridge mode... but usually most of the wireless ones can not.
Outside of router functions.. if your systems supports being in an Access Point mode? Where it handles all the wireless connectivity, and 5g modem handles the modem functionality.

Hi,
Do you have a reason to have the gateway plugged in and running?
I put mine away and not plugged.
The problem with that, I got disconnected twice in a month and I had to call them.
I do not have evidence to confirm that yet but highly likely.

The Cobra 5G Xtream Gateway is the ISP's modem/router/wireless device that I get my internet from. Have to have it running to get 5G data from Rogers.

Thank you GDkitty for your response. I realize that I am double NATing but the Cobra 5G Xtream gateway provided by Rogers does not allow for "bridge mode" so it's something that I think I can live with. My understanding is that "A double NAT can also result in performance issues if you play online games or use port forwarding rules and UPnP.". But since I don't need any of that, I should be okay.
With regards to Access Point Mode, prior to subscribing to the Rogers 5g home internet option, I had a Asus Aimesh system of one host router and 3 nodes connected with ethernet backhaul. One of the 3 nodes is in an outbuilding located 200 ft away from the main host router. I did not have to reconfigure anything on my Mesh network but just plugged it into the Rogers 5g Cobra gateway and it all seems to work fine. I'm of the mindset that if it works, then don't mess with it 🙂
