Cobra 5G Xtream strict NAT UPnP unsuccessful

Echo23
I've been here awhile

Hey folks.
Hoping someone has a guide or has solved the strict NAT issue on Xbox.
NAT = Strict, UPnP unsuccessful.
Cobra 5G settings have UPnP and NAT enabled. I've restarted everything several times. No change NAT stays strict.

Home still has other internet service. When I switch back NAT goes right back to OPEN. It's not the Xbox it's either the settings on the Cobra 5G or Rogers is restricting Xbox NAT.
I just signed up. I want this issue fixed asap so I can actually test the service during my "30 Day" risk free period!

Hello, @Echo23.

Thank you for being our Community member, your post, and connecting with us in private messages.

Rogers 5G Home Internet delivers Internet service over the Rogers mobile network. The Rogers 5G Home Internet device then converts the wireless signal into a WiFi signal accessible by the devices in your home.

It seems you have already tried the other 5G Home Internet Gateway, Re: Nokia fastmile connecting with xbox for gaming and now the Cobra 4G Xtream. Both gateways do not yield the result you want. This service may not be suitable for gaming.

Although UPnP is generally preferred, sometimes specific ports need to be manually forwarded or triggered for Xbox; have you tried forwarding ports based on the game?

You can also clear the Alternate MAC Address: Xbox settings | Network Settings | Advanced Settings, and clear the Alternate MAC Address. Restart your console and check the NAT type.

Try changing the Alternate Port Selection to manual in the same Network Settings and experiment with different ports. Restart your console and recheck the NAT type.

If possible, connect your Xbox directly to the Cobra 5G gateway using an Ethernet cable to see if it improves the NAT type.

We appreciate your patience and understanding!

Regards,

RogersMoin

Hey Moin, I have not tried the Nokia. I only signed up with Rogers last weekend and received the Cobra hardware on Monday. The sales guy assured me this would be great for xbox gaming when selling me the service. My whole reason for switching was based on the promise of an improved gaming experience and other than Starlink this is "the next best" service available as Fibre is currently not available. The Cobra 5G is also marketed for gaming. I've read and have been told that Rogers has a shortage of carrier IP's and that is the main reason for these issues. I'm hopeful tech support can figure out what's going on. I still have my old internet connection. When I plug back into it I get an Open NAT immediately. The issue is either with the Cobra 5G configuration or as previously mentioned Rogers network. There should be a simple solution.
