Rogers wait times and other woes

aim53
I've been around

Sales convinced me to sign on with Rogers bundle. Home phone included. Said they would port my phone number over. Then it started - got call saying technical problem have to do it myself phoning Bell - Bell says no, Rogers had to request it and no requests made to that point. Rogers says OK technician will do it when they visit to install equipment. Technician tries, couldn't do it tells me to contact Rogers, but he does have TV and internet working. So, contact Rogers again through online chat, and after Anna goes through her song and dance I get to a human after a ridiculous wait time. After many sessions of this routine still can't get the phone number ported over. I call on mobile from another provider, go through a routine to id me, then put through to someone else after wait in queue, still not resolved after being told it would. 3 times so far I've been put through to someone who is supposed to be able to help but I have had to hang up, first time after 42 min, 2nd. time after 1 hour 10 minutes, and today 1hour and 30 minutes!!! My God, what kind of customer service is this?

Funny thing, I moved to this address 9 years ago, and subscribed to Rogers services and they ported the phone number over from Bell. Then after 3 years Bell made an offer and I switched back to them and they ported the phone number back from Rogers. Last month Rogers convinced me to switch back to them and now they are claiming they cannot port the phone number - even though the address hasn't changed. I finally think I figured out what is going on, Rogers now puts in the postal code and uses Canada Post to autofill the city, but Canada Post has a Post Office nearby which fills in a community name of the post office, not the city name. And nobody seems to know how to override it, then they put me through to the endless wait queue of someone who can help.

I'm starting to think this is just a go nowhere line to keep you online waiting for ever.

Rogers customer service has certainly taken a nose dive from years ago.
