Hi Everyone,
I’ve had the Rogers WE Mastercard for just over a month now. During the first week, my card was declined, and I was told to bring two pieces of ID to a Rogers store for verification. Just over a month later, my card was declined again. I called Rogers, and they informed me that my account is on hold under a security review. I asked for a timeline, but they didn’t have one. Has anyone else had a similar experience? And what even is a security review?
I’ve spent about $10k-$12k this month and make payments toward my balance every couple of days.

Since 2016 I've probably averaged $30-50k per year. My max for a month was about $9k though, so perhaps there is a "review" at $10k, similar to what banks need to do for $10k transactions? Did you get any kind of email notification? I would have expected that much.
Your kind of activity is probably pretty rare, especially for someone new to RBMC, although it's perfectly understandable with the good rebates we get.
I'm not sure what the "pre-payments" do for the algorithm they have to keep track of suspicious activity, but they probably have to "clear" which may take up to 5 business days to be effective.

I didn't get any notification from them. My card was declined, so I called them to find out. I am just wondering if anyone went through something similar and what the timeline would be like. Or someone with insight would shed some light on what is going on.
As far as I know Amex does conduct account review if you request a limit increase to over something like $25,000 or they suspect you buying gift cards and abuse the points system. But for RBMC, it's just cashback...

If you're not getting the information you want by phoning, you may wish to try "I'd Like to" - "Send a Message" when logged into the RBMC website. I've found them to be responsive, but usually takes a day or two. Not sure how long you're willing to wait... Good Luck and let us know how this works out.

Thanks for the tip. I send a message. Let's see how it goes.
