Subject: Urgent Need for Long-Distance Call Notifications

_sp_
I've been around

I’m extremely frustrated with the lack of notifications for long-distance calls with Rogers. Recently, I made several calls to airline numbers that I thought were toll-free, only to find unexpected long-distance charges on my bill. Not once did Rogers notify me at the start of these calls that they were considered long-distance and would incur fees.

It’s not just inconvenient—it’s unfair. As a customer, I should be notified immediately when a call is long-distance so I can make an informed decision about whether to continue or hang up. Without this information upfront, I’m being charged for services I wasn’t aware I was using and the customer service and management won't credit these fees.

This isn’t a new issue. Over 20 years ago, home phone lines already had a system in place to notify customers when they were making long-distance calls. If this was possible back then, it shouldn’t be difficult to implement a similar system for mobile phones today. It feels like Rogers is just taking advantage of the system, charging customers for services they weren’t properly warned about.

This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. Rogers must implement a proper notification system that warns customers about potential long-distance charges before they connect, so they can make the choice to proceed or not. It’s time for Rogers to step up and protect its customers from these unexpected charges.

I urge other users to share their experiences and push for this essential change. We deserve more support and trust.
