Wi-Fi calling

Oscar9
I've been here awhile
If I am travelling in the United States and I’m in a hotel and I’m on Wi-Fi and I have Wi-Fi calling turned on my iPhone, may I use my phone without incurring long-distance for phone calls charges? Can I receive phone from Canada?

Hello, @Oscar9

Thank you for posting your inquiry on Wi-Fi calling.

If you are using Wi-Fi calling on your device and you make a call that would be considered long distance from home then you would be charged for the long distance calls.

As per Rogers.com:

If you are using WiFi Calling while outside of Canada, the following will be deducted from your airtime and messaging limits included in your wireless plan without incurring any long distance or roaming charges:

  • Incoming calls and messages received from anywhere in the world
  • Outgoing calls and messages made or sent by you to a Canadian number

You can learn more about Wi-Fi calling and how it works here.
