CBC Gem 14 Timeshift channels all across Canada are free all the time from  the CBC Gem app. ( also Explore, Olympic, and Sports channel) Global Tv app also includes Toronto, Maritimes, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver ( these are not news channels but live channels) Yes TV app includes Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary feeds. Most international tv news channels that Rogers carries and charges for have their own app free content is free ( from the App Store) CTV News Channel and CP 24 have their own app now is free and content is free.

Just thought  I would pass this info onto Rogers subscribers to save them money .

The Canadian and US timeshift channels didn't come on free preview last weekend Feb 2-5 in Ottawa, will this weekend Feb 9-12 be any different?

Hi James, There are other ways to get live Network Time shift channels and live News channels as I have mentioned instead paying for them through Rogers. The technology is there legal and free. I use the regular network apps and News channel apps, in fact CBC Gem is advertising now to download their app on your Smart tv. What I mentioned in my post is free live and legal. I have given up with Rogers. Thank goodness for technology for the consumer.

Yes there are some Timeshift channels as of today, but this has been going since November 1, 2023 on for weeks, on for a couple weeks then they disappear then back on for another couple of weeks, the only way I know they are there is we keep our guide preference set to Free to me ???
No Global TV or CBC Timeshift channels, no Yes Tv ( Edmonton and Calgary channels either????

Hi Tony, After seeing some issues with the Timeshift channels (U.S. and Canadian Theme Packs) that were to be in free preview last weekend and the weekend before and subscribers not being able to view. I wrote a ( Share a concern to Office of the President) . The time shift channels ( in our viewing area didn’t appear on our guide nor through the microphone on Rogers remote saying ( Free Previews)  or online under Free Previews.

I would suggest that Rogers subscribers do as I did. Office of the President offered the U.S and Canadian timeshift Theme packages in our area at no cost per month for a one year period. There were no issues with the speciality channels you had in your list. They couldn’t explain what the issue was.

For those with Legacy Digital TV, as of Feb. 22, Rogers has replaced Your World This Week promo channel (on ch. 1 and 59) with what the previous scroll called a Free Preview of the CityNews 24/7 channel.

Since CityNews 24/7 channel is only available to Legacy Digital TV subscribers via this free preview, I'm going to assume that it will stay free until the death if Legacy Digital TV (unless it gets added to one of the News theme packs).

In early February, the scroll message at bottom of the screen stated that the Your World This Week channel would soon be removed. That's why I expect the free preview to last for several months (just like the IgniteTV free preview from ages ago).

City News 24/7 is available to Ignite TV subscribers on channel 100 and has been in Free Preview for quite a while. You can also download from the AppStore  the City News app for your phone or IPad where you can get news some with live streams from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Kitchener, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, and you can cast to your TV. It’s free, your watch on your mobile device.

Most TV News Channels now have their own App from the App Store or your smart TV example : CP24 and CTV News Channel( Free)  are also available on IOS and no sign in with TV provider.
