I plan to stick around

Look at link from BC same as I am getting.

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/mounties-in-b-c-warn-highly-convincing-scammers-extorting-victims-with-photos-...

It comes from a different gmail every time. Has a .pdf which is now going into my spam folder and .pdf blocked.

The thread says: You have been watching..you know bad videos, I have a video of you and will post it unless I get $1900USD in bitcoin. Don't open the .pdf....Not sure where they got my rogers email, but have foubd my name, used 411 to get phone # address, then go to google earth and put pix of my house. These scammers have to be stopped!!!

Thank you for sharing this with our Community.

My wife also got a very similar email to this one and it looked like they had spoofed her email as the sender.

Be wary out there and be sure to forward any scam/spam email you get to abuse@rogers.com for us to investigate.

Regards,

RogersCorey

I remember hearing about this on the news.  Yes scammers are getting more and more creative, so we all need to constantly educate ourselves of what scams are currently being deployed and be made aware of them to avoid being compromised.
