Never gonna trust anyone calling me from Rogers again

suratek
I've been here awhile

Someone called me today talking about Rogers having to verify user emails every year, I was instantly suspicious. They claimed to send me a verification code and I was instructed to call it out. Right here is where I messed up.

What had happened was on their side they requested a password change which would send me a verification code from a legitimate rogers email "DONOTREPLY@rci.rogers.com" thinking this was legit I give out the code. I got another email right after telling me my password was changed...good thing I was looking at my emails otherwise I wouldn't have noticed and changed it right away.

Never gonna trust anyone calling me from Rogers again.

1. When you got your verification code, it probably said:

Important: Always keep this verification code confidential and do not share it with anyone. Our employees will never ask you to share your verification code or password.

Which part of the above paragraph did you not understand?

I agree, it says clearly in the email:  do not share it with anyone.

that means rogers employees or scammers pretending to be rogers employees
