Feature Request: CALL CONTROL - Telus & Kudoo have it, why not Rogers?

Hi, 1st time posting here, however, it's come to a point where Spam Calls and Spam Texts are getting wayyy out of control. I'm talking 5-10 calls/texts per day. That's over 300 spam calls/texts per month. I know Telus and Kudoo have this service, but I'm not willing to switch over just for this 1 feature. I've been a Rogers user for probably 25+ years now.

 

For those that don't know what Call Control is, it's a feature where when someone calls you, they have to hit a certain number on their phone to get through to you. A lot of spam-auto-bot dialers don't have a keypad accessible and this requires human interaction to get through to the individual, eliminating spam calls.

 

I would looooove this feature and even willing to pay for it. These spam calls are disruptive and ruining our lives, taking precious time away for calls that are meaningful or business or work related.

 

I've included some pics of examples of how disruptive this is. All the numbers shown are spam calls.

I believe there are call control apps on the web for various phones. Perhaps do some research there and try one or two out?

Wow Rogers must really care about customers that they still didn't reply to you. LOL CALL CONTROL WOULD REALLY HELP WITH THESE SCANNERS!!!

I have experience quite a bit more spam/scammer calls since switching to Rogers.  The Telus control feature was the best thing ever. I am seriously considering switching back to Telus just so I don't get these stupid calls anymore.  It's quite annoying and for a huge company like rogers this should be offered to customers as a standard.

This is slightly off topic, but after acivating the "Block Anonymous calls" feaure, i've been getting far fewer scam calls on my land line.

Goto my.shaw.ca > log in.

My Services > Phone ... Manage settings >

Privacy > Edit > 

Block calls 

…  Anonymous calls > on / off (Reject calls from unidentified numbers.)

I was with Rogers since 1987 and I like you was not willing to switch, but now that I switch to Telus, I would never go back to Rogers. The call control feature. The Telus has is unbelievable not even one telemarketer in the last six months that I’ve switched to Telus There is not a chance I would go back to Rogers, even if they were to pay me a monthly fee to be with them. I would still stay with Telus calls with Rogers were unbelievable way too many calls coming through always likely spam likely spam if it’s likely spam why do you even let it come through? It’s a waste of my time , Rogers, you have lost me as a customer for life

Hi Roger team,
As a customer since many years with 4 lines from your company your answer is just stupid! Your company should do the same of Telus & Kudoo ….. press one to validate the call or….. will definitely move my 4 lines to Telus as I’m tired of spam call just increasing

Why does Rogers not offer spam protection where the caller needs to enter a random number for the call to go through unless the caller is on a user generate list? This was offered by Telus when I was a customer there and was very effective at stopping those annoying calls.

RogersCorey, I am not sure what good your response gives to all the people letting you know how irritating it is on Rogers with the no stop spam callers. All I read, for a reply from Rogers, on these forums, is that you appreciate the feedback. I never read what you are going to do with it. Some "expert" on here says it is possible for Rogers to add this feature but I do not read any response from Rogers whether they will or not. Could you please make a definitive replay to say whether Rogers is considering implementing this feature or not?

Now that would be greatly appreciated!

Rogers, please step up your game.  These spam calls are getting ridiculous!  I have been with TELUS in the past and do not care for their services but if these calls keep up, I will be forced to switch my family over to another provider that has this caller control.

Yup, it's not enough to say 'Likely Spam'.  The bot calls are long enough that it goes to voicemail, then I have to go in and delete it.  Tedious and annoying.

It's so brutal. I was with Telus, switched to Rogers and it has been the worst decision ever. Not even 5 months, and I'm going back to Telus. Rogers now wants me to pay for my entire phone before leaving.... yah no. If you are considering changing to Rogers think again!

I am absolutely disgusted with Rogers complete incompetence and inability to stop the flow to my business line.  Over 15 calls today.  American clowns and East Indian call Centres.

I’ve been a customer for 23 years. The amount of spam calls I get on a regular basis is driving me insane. I’m the busiest person I know and suffer from ADHD along with auditory sensory overload. I also use many apps on my smartphone very regularly. Having to kick spam calls to voicemail 30 times per day is a pain to deal with. The spam caller feature isn’t accurate either. I’ve accidentally answered calls labeled as spam callers a few times just to find out they were customers of mine. I shouldn’t have to choose between kicking my customers to voicemail which I never have time to check vs answering scam callers from fake phone numbers attempting to sell me web search optimization and refusing to remove me from their call lists. If Rogers doesn’t offer call control soon, I may finally have to switch to another carrier regardless of the costs. Get it together Rogers!

My theory is that Rogers have an Incentive NOT to implement this feature as it would somehow impact another business service they offer - you have to ask yourself - WHY NOT?
